The years of wandering the desert are over...
Since popping into existence in 1995, STAGES has been here,
there and everywhere – always elusive, lovin’
em and leavin’ em, coming and going...
But we now have a home. Siglap South Community Centre, a
Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts, is now our proud
abode. Here we will create shows, conduct workshops, train,
hothouse projects, hold showings, and do countless other things
that only the generously housed groups get to do.
Come explore our new playpen, and watch us play! Some highlights
you can catch include:
Shakespeare in the Garden – a haunting
twist to our favourite witchety-poo scene from Macbeth; and
a reality-TV version of midsummer lovers...
Sondheim Some More! – gems from this
master of American musical theatre, presented by our regulars
plus graduates of our Interpreting Sondheim workshop...
Chestnuts – a small serving of Jon
and Sean’s wacky 2-man comedy revue, featuring favourites
from the 2000 and 2001 shows, including a tribute to Ivan
Heng, Moulmein High and Mediacorp war dramas...
Plus storytelling for all ages by our master storyteller...
Scenes from various plays previously performed in Singapore
and Perth
Plus many other odds and ends... (More odds than ends, really.)
